Half-sour Pickle Recipe

This is a Polish version of a pickling recipe which is similar to Jewish pickle recipes but used large sized cucumbers.

Items Needed

4 cucumbers
9 cups white vinegar
1 cup coarse sea salt
9 tablespoons pickling seasoning
2 garlic cloves
5 bay leafs
1/4 of an onion

How to prepare

Place vinegar, sea salt, garlic, and pickling seasoning into a pot.  Place over a high heat to dissolve the salt.  Once dissolved, allow the liquid to cool.  Add water about 1 cup. Place cucumbers in.  Refrigerate and next day add the bay leafs and onion.  The pickles will be ready to eat the next day and over time will get more sour.  They can be eaten as a snack or in a sandwich.
